How to search files in your own bucket

You already own the objects. You want to find one fast.

file.rocks is the UI. Search hits the file.rocks index. This is not a live provider-console listing claim. It is not semantic search.

This is Search. It is not a remake of how to tag files in your own bucket, how to rename a file in your own bucket, how to move multiple files in your own bucket, or how to delete multiple files from your own bucket. Tag first if you want filter-by-tag later.

1. No bucket yet

You need S3-compatible object storage. Not another Drive clone.

2. Keyword Search

Sign in at file.rocks. Open Files. Pick a bucket you own.

Use the header Search box. The placeholder is Search.

Type a query. Searching runs across the whole bucket by default.

Browse with an empty Search box and you stay in the current folder.

If the bucket is empty you see No files yet and Drag and drop to get started.

3. Filters, including Tag

Click the funnel. The title is Add filters. When filters are on, the title shows {N} active filter or {N} active filters.

The first funnel list is Name, Size, Created, Modified, Type, and Category.

Once the chips row is open, click + (Add filter). That list also offers Tag, plus the same Name / Size / Created / Modified / Type / Category options.

Operators include is, is not, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, is greater than, is less than, is at least, is at most, and is between. Tag defaults to is.

4. Scope: All files or Current folder

When the filter chips row is open, use the scope toggle: All files or Current folder.

Current folder is disabled at the bucket root. The title is Navigate to a folder first. Inside a folder the title is Current folder only.

5. Then stop
