How to copy a file link from your own bucket

You already own the file. A link exists. You want it on the clipboard.

file.rocks is the UI. Copy does not create a share. It only copies what is already available.

This is Copy link. It is not a remake of how to share a file from your own bucket or how to turn off a public link from your own bucket. Share creates. Revoke turns it off. Copy grabs the URL.

1. No bucket yet

You need S3-compatible object storage. Not another Drive clone.

Need a public CDN domain on the bucket first? That is Cloudflare R2 custom domain.

2. Copy the link

Sign in at file.rocks. Open Files. Pick a bucket you own.

Open a file row that already has a public CDN domain on the bucket, or an existing share. The Copy link item only shows then.

Open the row menu. Click Copy link.

The toast is Copying then Link copied to clipboard.

What lands on the clipboard:

• If the bucket has a public domain, you get the public CDN URL for that object.
• Else, if the file already has a share, you get https://www.file.rocks/s/{code}.

This is not Copy Mux ID. That is a different menu item for Mux uploads.

Folder rows have no Copy link.

If you do not see Copy link, the file has neither a public domain URL nor a share code yet. Create a share first, or set a public domain on the bucket.

3. Then stop
