How to create a folder in your own bucket

You already own the bucket. You want a place to put files, not a pile.

file.rocks is the UI. The folder lands in the bucket you connected.

1. No bucket yet

You need S3-compatible object storage. Not another Drive clone.

2. Open Files and make a folder

Sign in at file.rocks. Open Files.

Click New Folder in the toolbar.

The modal is Create New Folder. The field is Folder Name. Click Save.

The toast is Folder created. The folder lands in the connected bucket. You are not creating it in file.rocks storage.

3. Names

These characters get stripped: / \\ ? # * : | " < >.

An empty name errors with Folder name cannot be empty. A failed create toasts Failed to create folder.

The objects stay in your bucket. Your provider sets the object limits.

4. Then stop

Keep the bucket paid. The folder is a prefix in your bucket. file.rocks is the UI.
